Piedmont's wild plums are a centuries-old plum variety. They are famous for their deep blue color and intense, very sweet flavor. At the van Nahmen cider and private winery in Hamminkeln, Rhineland, fruit processing has a long tradition. Nothing is removed from the juices and nothing is added: no preservatives, no flavorings. Particular attention is paid to the use of heirloom fruit varieties, thus preserving traditional, endangered cultivars.
