This 'Crema Gianduia' - as it is called in Italian - has nothing to do with what is commonly known as a hazelnut nougat cream. Away from sheet fats or palm oil, Papa dei Boschi uses the finest ingredients to make a hazelnut chocolate cream with significantly less sweetness and more (nutty) flavor.
This newer "dark" version differs only in one (missing) ingredient. No milk powder. Hardly any difference in taste.
IGP hazelnuts have certain quality parameters, such as their homogeneous shape, their excellent smell and taste after roasting and their long shelf life. These characteristics make this Piedmont hazelnut butter one of the best in the world.
