The Chardonnay is harvested in three villages from even younger vines.
Until the vineyards show their own, full character, these three origins are united. Fermented in barriques and aged there for almost a year, then left on the fine lees in stainless steel for a further six months.
The Jechtinger Eichert (VDP.Erste Lage), Achkarrer Schlossberg (VDP.Große Lage) and Schelinger Ohrberg (not yet classified) sites are connected by the very barren volcanic subsoil. In Eichert and Schlossberg the soils are rather dark (volcanic ash), whereas Ohrberg is lighter and redder.
This wine has three different labels with parts of the triptych "Kaiserstuhl" by the artist Leiko Ikemura.
We only have two different labels here. If anyone wants a special one, just let us know when ordering.
