50% Tempranillo, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot. L'Angelet is made from a selection of the best grapes from the winery's oldest vines. All grapes are picked by hand. The method of maturation tends to optimize the technical effort. 35% of the wine remains in French oak barriques (225 liters) for 16 months. It is bottled without prior filtration or fining. Only in really good wine years does part of the L'Angelet become L'Angelet d'Or and remain in the barrel for a few months longer (L'Angelet 12 months) to give the wine an additional class. This happened in 2000, 2004 and currently in 2011.
On the palate, a magnificent play of aromas of black berries, espresso and vanilla. Opulent and smooth tannins.
