Pennette is the thin version of Penne Rigate, a tube pasta with slanted ends about 4-5 cm long. However, unlike Penne, Pennette is not ridged and is therefore more suitable for cream sauces. This pasta comes from Italy and is made from the best durum wheat semolina, but without eggs.
